In preparation for christmas eve at our house

*UPDATED*

I optimistically invited a relatively large portion of my family to our house for Christmas Eve. At first I thought it would just be an open house sort of deal, come and go as you please and not have to make a meal. Well then my aunt who usually holds an annual event at her house needed to cancel because of a death in her family, so my house became the main event. Insert “ahhhh” now. Under normal conditions, this maybe wouldn’t be cause for panic, however, we are leaving for New York at 9:30 on Christmas morning. Therefore there are so many things I need to accomplish before we leave…

Pack for the kids

Pack for Louie

Pack for myself- I still have a few necessities for each of us that I haven’t packed yet: undergarments, hair straightener, diapers, louie’s jeans.

Pack the gift suitcase- my husband is a giver. he can’t just give people gift cards and make it easier on himself shopping, or on me for packing purposes, nope our gift suitcase weighs 35 pounds. Did I mention how excited I am to take 2 kids, 4 suitcases, 2 carry on bags, a diaper bag and all other must haves to the airport with just 4 hands to carry it all.

Clean the house… AGAIN- i spent most of the weekend cleaning the house from floor to ceiling, but if you have a toddler you know it doesn’t stay clean long. I have 2 toddlers so it was messy even quicker.  THANK YOU KATIE FOR LETTING TREY AND HARPER HAVE A PLAY DATE TO FREE UP A FEW HOURS! YOU ARE A GODSEND!

Decorate Christmas Cookies

Make chocolate covered pretzels

Make Brownie balls

Go shopping… AGAIN – need an apple pie, soda, sour cream, mini keg for the beer tender, and one last gift for my brother. Again, HUGE THANKS TO KATIE!

Figure out how to fix the ham we bought at Costco

Prepare potato casserole, corn casserole, and any other fixin’s I decide to make.

Clean the house again before we leave for NY. make sure all the garbage is out

Wake up Christmas morning, early enough for the kids to open a gazillion presents ( i hit up the dollar store this year) eat, clean, and make it to the airport by no later than 8:00am

Please pray for me as I take on all these tasks this week. Oh an I forgot to mention I have a viewing and a funeral to attend today and tomorrow.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! BE BLESSED!!!!
