Brooklyn Sky

Thought I would give everyone, besides Tina who was here when she came home for the 1st time, their first look at the newest addition to the Ramos clan.

She is our 10 week old boxer puppy. Louie has been begging for a dog since Leilani was born and I always told him I had 3 stipulations… Trey needed to be talking, Leilani needed to be walking and we needed a house with a yard. Well the last of the three things is becoming official as of 2:00pm on Friday so we took the plunge. Like the process of deciding on names for our kids, we couldn’t agree. Although we both really liked the first 2 names we came up with… Pebbles and Sky. I liked Pebbles because my best friends dog’s name is Bam Bam and I really like naming dogs names that you can’t use on humans. And Sky was just something simple, unique and pretty except Louie heard a story about another dog name Sky and changed his mind. Louie has always wanted to name something Brooklyn and I had to fight tooth and nail to not have it be one of our kids’ names and I forgot that I made a promise that we could name our dog Brooklyn as long as I didn’t have to name my kid that… so alas, her name is Brooklyn… but it’s already growing on me. The picture really doesn’t do her justice, she is too stinkin’ cute and I can’t get enough of her. Trey loves her and refers to her as “my dog”… “mommy I go kiss MY dog, I go walk MY dog, I go wake up MY dog”. I should video tape him saying this to prove it when he is older and doesn’t want any of the responsibility right?! Leilani on the other hand is going through a rough stage right now. My sister-in-law and her son are staying with us for an extended period of time and I think she is having a hard time not being the baby anymore, now a puppy on top of that… let’s just say she isn’t being very sweet these days no matter how cute she is.

If anyone has any pointers on training and what not… please keep the tips coming. Mommy stuff has come pretty easy to me but dogs are not my area of expertise.
